Potentiate your therapeutic competence with skills that stimulate the brain’s neuroplasticity. Learn to introduce new neural information and activate positive neuromuscular changes in your clients, all while supporting your own self-care and ensuring bodywork career longevity.

Learn the theory and techniques to complement your massage treatments by:

  • reducing or eliminating the potential of massage therapist burnout and/or related injuries
  • preparing the client’s body for deep work with less strain; and
  • developing, transmitting and sharing mindfulness in action

Somatic Mindfulness workshops (Fundamentals, Connection, Grounding, Expansion & Radiance) expose the massage therapist to tragerwork and mindfulness-based skills that potentiate their therapeutic efficacy. Inherent to the method is support for the therapist’s self-care, ensuring career longevity. In Grounding, the emphasis is on the experience of proprioceptive rooting for balance and stability. Handles are explored around feet, legs, and hips and their interconnection with the rest of the body. Each workshop is self-contained, and there are no prerequisites to take each theme. This class is NCBTMB-approved and is also sponsored to teach New York licensed massage therapists continuing education accepted by the state of New York for license renewal.

The techniques explored in this workshop were developed almost 100 years ago and have been used to manage symptoms of conditions such as Polio, MS, CP, and Parkinson’s. Moreover, the method includes the development and application of certain self observation capabilities which are necessary to ensure the efficiency of the techniques and result in direct benefits to the therapist

  1. Hello I’m an alumni interested in the somatic class in august

  2. This workshop on Somatic Mindfulness and Grounding seems like a transformative experience for massage therapists. The integration of Trager work and mindfulness-based skills not only enhances therapeutic efficacy but also addresses crucial aspects like burnout prevention and client preparation for deep work. The emphasis on proprioceptive rooting for balance and stability in the Grounding workshop sounds particularly valuable. It’s fascinating to learn that these techniques have a century-long history and have been applied in managing conditions like Polio, MS, CP, and Parkinson’s. Overall, this holistic approach, coupled with NCBTMB approval and recognition by Trager International, makes it a compelling opportunity for career development and self-care.
